Forty years since American Peace Test&#8217;s founding, a proper archive of the work and the experience we gained from it is a good thing, and an informative resource.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Why Now?<\/em> The threat of the use of nuclear weapons is higher now in 2026 than it has been since the Cuban Missile Crisis. The <a href=\"https:\/\/thebulletin.org\/doomsday-clock\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/thebulletin.org\/doomsday-clock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bulletin of the Atomic Scientist&#8217;s Doomsday Clock<\/a> is now at <strong>85 seconds<\/strong>.<em>The closest it has ever been to midnight. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\nThe archive is being put together by Stephanie Fraser, who was APT staff in Las Vegas from 1987 until 1991.\n<br><br>\nAs the site develops, more people will contribute.\n<br><br>\nBut in the meantime, event summaries are being added. \n<br><br>\nThis is an exciting project.
